Responsibilities:
- Help develop US medical strategy and perspective, ensuring alignment with commercial asset strategy where appropriate.
- Contribute to the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team to tailor/adapt global asset strategy for US customer needs; provide strategic oversight of US Tactical Plans.
- Align asset positioning and evidence planning with therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies.
- Engage external communities to advance scientific/medical understanding, including development and appropriate use of medicines, disease management, and patient care; coordinate with US MSLs and GMAL on joint global/US engagement of top US-based external experts where appropriate.
- Understand evolving provider/expert and payer landscapes and translate insights into a plan.
- Review, synthesize, and analyze clinical trial and real-world evidence (RWE) and translate data into actionable product-level plans.
- Develop product strategy for Medical Advisory Board/Expert Panel meetings, consultancies, medical grants, and medical publications.
- Support Medical Information on FAQs and standard response letters.
- Follow sound medical governance for all activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Healthcare Doctorate (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, PA).
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/medical communications industry experience.
- Experience working in a US healthcare environment.
- External stakeholder management experience.
- Medical affairs accountabilities including evidence generation and external peer-to-peer HCP engagement; provide internal advice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years medical affairs/scientific director/medical director HQ experience.
- Respiratory disease area expertise with appropriate medical and/or clinical experience.
- Excellent communications skills; interacts effectively with all levels of management and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to influence change, drive continuous improvement, analyze external environment, exercise good judgment, and build customer-focused collaborative relationships.
