Medical Director (Therapeutic Area)
Role Responsibilities
- Serve as medical content lead for the Therapeutic Area; support strategic development and execution.
- Lead Medical Product Plan development (medical strategies, tactics, budget); gain endorsement and align with Commercial colleagues.
- Chair Core Medical Team (CMT) and Extended Medical Team (EMT) meetings.
- Plan and execute National Advisory Board (NAB) meetings; secure ABOC approval; manage vendor logistics in compliance and within budget.
- Develop advisory board agendas; select and chair/co-chair KOL advisory meetings; ensure minutes and action plans are shared.
- Drive Medical Affairs input to Evidence Generation Plan (EGP) and Product Development Plan (PDP); present EGP and PDP updates for endorsement.
- Co-chair Project Teams for in-line and pipeline products; coordinate and align NNI/Medical Affairs input.
- Evaluate emerging portfolio assets; provide strategic evaluation for licensing or M&A; present findings/recommendations to management.
- May represent NNI on Global Project Teams (GPT) and Commercial Access Teams (CAT).
Qualifications
- MD/DO/PhD/PharmD or relevant doctoral degree.
- Required: 10+ years combined clinical, research and/or industry experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years in a Medical Director role; relevant therapeutic area research/pharma experience; progressive industry leadership.
Required/Preferred Skills
- Strategic mindset; strong problem-solving and agility.
- Understanding of market needs/resource allocation.
- Expertise in clinical trial methodology/conduct, GCP, publications, ISS, medical education, medical product support.
- Superior oral/written communication; proven stakeholder relationship-building; independent, proactive leadership.
Travel/Location
- 20β30% overnight travel; Home Office based (ideal East Coast near major airport; able to travel to Plainsboro, NJ regularly).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay: $250,000β$315,000; eligible for company bonus; long-term incentive/company vehicles.
