Position Summary
The Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, Nephrology provides scientific leadership and medical expertise to support late-stage clinical development of civorebrutinib in immune-mediated renal diseases, serving as Global Medical Affairs lead. Also supports the nephrology franchise (including Sparsentan) as needed.
Responsibilities
- Execute Global Medical Affairs strategy/tactical plan aligned to clinical development and evidence generation.
- Build and maintain expertise in civorebrutinib, immune-mediated renal kidney diseases, competitive landscape, emerging data, and standards of care.
- Lead global KOL engagement strategy and maintain long-term relationships with KOLs, investigators, societies, and patient advocacy groups.
- Plan and oversee scientific engagement (advisory boards, expert panels, investigator meetings, scientific forums).
- Partner with Field Medical to support medical education, field training, evidence generation, and collection of actionable insights.
- Translate insights into strategic recommendations for clinical development/evidence generation.
- Partner on scientific messaging, publication/congress strategy, and medical education.
- Contribute to Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP) and prioritize evidence-generation opportunities (clinical, real-world, HEOR, investigator-sponsored).
- Coordinate integrated medical strategy with cross-functional teams (Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, PV, Scientific Comms, Field Medical).
- Manage vendors, budgets, timelines, medical KPIs, and represent the company at scientific meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements
- MD/MD-PhD/PharmD/PharmD-PhD/DO or other advanced life-sciences degree.
- 6+ years Medical Affairs experience in biotech/pharma, including clinical development and/or commercialization support.
- Nephrology and/or immunology Medical Affairs experience required; autoimmune/rare disease strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Evidence generation across product lifecycle.
- Experience with KOL engagement, scientific communications/publications, medical education, congress strategy, and advisory boards.
- Strategic, organizational, and strong communication skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
- Travel up to ~40%; onsite/face-to-face in San Diego required (not 100% remote).
