Position Summary
The Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, Nephrology provides scientific leadership and medical expertise to support the clinical development of civorebrutinib in immune-mediated renal diseases. Serves as Global Medical Affairs lead for civorebrutinib (EVER001) and supports the broader nephrology franchise (including Sparsentan/FILSPARI) as needed.
Responsibilities
- Execute Global Medical Affairs strategy and tactical plan aligned to clinical development and evidence-generation goals.
- Build/maintain deep expertise in civorebrutinib, immune-mediated renal diseases, competitive landscape, emerging data, and evolving standards of care.
- Lead global KOL engagement strategy and long-term KOL relationship development.
- Plan, develop, execute, and measure scientific engagement (advisory boards, expert panels, investigator meetings, scientific forums).
- Partner with Field Medical for external engagement, evidence generation, medical education, field training, and insight capture.
- Translate KOL/congress/advisory/competitive/field insights into recommendations for clinical development and evidence plans.
- Develop scientific messaging, publication/congress strategy, and medical education (with Scientific Communications).
- Contribute to Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP) to identify evidence gaps and prioritize research.
- Collaborate with Market Access and HEOR on evidence generation and payer engagement.
- Partner cross-functionally (Clinical Development, HEOR, Market Access, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial, Field Medical) for integrated medical strategy.
- Support clinical trial program (investigator/site engagement and medical support).
- Lead medical KPIs, annual strategic/tactical planning, and vendor/budget/timeline management.
- Represent the company at scientific congresses and external scientific engagements.
- Uphold scientific integrity, patient focus, compliance, and ethics.
Qualifications
- MD/MD-PhD/PharmD/PharmD-PhD/DO or other advanced life sciences degree.
- 6+ years Medical Affairs experience in biotech/pharma, including clinical development and/or commercialization support.
- Required: nephrology and/or immunology clinical and/or Medical Affairs experience (broader autoimmune/rare disease strongly preferred).
- Preferred: evidence generation across the product lifecycle.
- Demonstrated KOL/investigator/society/patient advocacy engagement experience.
- Experience with scientific communications, publication planning, medical education, congress strategy, and advisory boards.
Additional Skills
- Strong scientific acumen and strategic thinking; ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex science.
- Strong organizational/project management skills; travel up to ~40%.
- Must be able to perform face-to-face work and/or be onsite in San Diego (not 100% remote).

Compensation
- Target base pay range: $206,000.00–$268,000.00.
