Medical Account Specialist II - NEUROLOGY -SAN DIEGO, CA

Responsibilities:
- Engage rare neurology experts and key customers within an assigned geography and deliver clinically focused selling messages to launch products, grow brand share and revenue, and meet product goals.
- Develop and execute account strategies to grow market share.
- Partner with Reimbursement and Access Specialists and other stakeholders to address customer needs, market dynamics, and trends; develop strategies supporting brand and corporate objectives in territory.
- Build strong working relationships across customers and internal stakeholders (clinics, physicians, nurses, patient advocacy groups, Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training and Trade).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling to understand regional/local care delivery, influencers, and payer systems.
- Use deep knowledge of applicable customers/markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations).
- Apply strategic account selling/management skills: create comprehensive territory/account/customer plans to achieve objectives.
- Emphasize the “total account call” by educating all personnel in the account on commercially available products.
- Develop strategy and execute tactics in key accounts to establish, generate, and expand market share.
- Identify business opportunities with assigned accounts and coordinate the Rare Neurology account team (e.g., support contracting pull-through).
- Gain deep knowledge of each assigned account through internal research and stakeholder input (business model, metrics, challenges, strategic goals).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree mandatory; Master’s degree or advanced education/certifications a plus.
- Minimum 5 years successful Neurology sales experience; specialty/biologic/REMS products strongly preferred (launch experience preferred).
- Minimum 2 years working with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care organizations focused on Neurology.
- Proven consistent sales performance in complex markets with diverse segments; operate with integrity within compliance guidelines.
- Results-oriented with a track record of product launch success.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving/planning account management skills.
- Current experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or integrated delivery networks.
- Strong understanding of the Neurology therapeutic area and current Neurology marketplace.
