The Rare Neurology Medical Account Specialist engages Neurology specialists and key stakeholders across diverse care settings within an assigned geography. Delivers clinically focused messaging to drive revenue and achieve product goals.
Responsibilities
- Engage Rare Neurology experts and key customers in assigned geography with clinically focused selling messages to launch products, grow brand share and revenue, and deliver product goals.
- Partner with Reimbursement and Access Specialists and other stakeholders to address customer needs, market dynamics/trends, and develop strategies supporting brand/corporate objectives in the territory.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders (clinics, physicians, nurses, patient advocacy groups, Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training/Trade).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling (delivery systems, influencers, payer systems).
- Develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans and execute strategy/tactics in key accounts to establish, generate, and expand market share.
- Emphasize the “total account call” by educating all account personnel on commercially available products.
- Identify business opportunities and coordinate with the account team (e.g., support contracting pull-through).
- Gain deep account knowledge via internal research and information gathering across account stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or advanced education/certifications a plus).
- Minimum 5 years successful Neurology sales; specialty/biologic/REMS experience strongly preferred; launch experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care organizations (Neurology concentration).
- Proven sales performance in complex markets with integrity/compliance.
- Results-oriented with product launch success.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving/planning and account management skills.
- Experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or integrated delivery networks.
- Strong understanding of the Neurology therapeutic area and marketplace.
