The Rare Neurology Medical Account Specialist (MS) engages Neurology specialists and key stakeholders across diverse care settings within an assigned geography, delivering clinically focused messaging to drive revenue and achieve product goals.
Responsibilities:
- Engage Rare Neurology experts and key customers in an assigned geography; deliver clinically focused selling messages to launch product, grow brand share and revenue, and meet product goals.
- Partner with Reimbursement and Access Specialists and other stakeholders to address customer needs, market dynamics/trends, and develop strategies supporting brand and corporate objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with clinics, physicians, nurses, health care providers, patient advocacy groups, and internal teams (including Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training & Trade).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling (health care delivery, influencers, payer systems).
- Apply deep knowledge of customers/markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations).
- Execute strategic account selling and manage territory/account/customer plans to achieve objectives.
- Emphasize the “total account call” so all account personnel are educated on commercially available products.
- Develop and implement tactics within key accounts to establish/generate/expand market share.
- Identify business opportunities and coordinate support (e.g., contracting pull-through).
- Gather and integrate account information (business model, metrics, challenges, strategic goals).
Requirements (This Role Requires):
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or advanced education/certifications a plus).
- 5+ years successful Neurology sales; specialty/biologic/REMS experience strongly preferred; launch experience preferred.
- 2+ years working with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care organizations (Neurology concentration).
- Proven, consistent sales performance in complex markets with integrity/compliance.
- Results-oriented; proven track record of product launches.
- Strong account management with analytical/problem-solving/planning skills.
- Experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or integrated delivery networks.
- Strong understanding of Neurology therapeutic area and marketplace.
