The Rare Neurology Medical Account Specialist (MS) engages Neurology specialists and key stakeholders across diverse care settings within an assigned geography. Delivers clinically focused messaging to drive revenue and achieve product goals.
Responsibilities:
- Engage Rare Neurology experts and customers in assigned geography; deliver clinically focused selling messages to launch products, grow brand share and revenue, and meet product goals.
- Partner with Reimbursement and Access Specialists and other stakeholders to address customer needs, market dynamics/trends, and develop strategies supporting brand and corporate objectives.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders (e.g., clinics, physicians, nurses, patient advocacy groups, Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training/Trade).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling (delivery, influencers, payer systems).
- Develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans; execute strategy in key accounts to establish, generate, and expand market share.
- Emphasize the “total account call” to educate all account personnel on commercially available products.
- Identify business opportunities and coordinate efforts (e.g., support contracting pull-through).
- Gather and integrate account information (business model, metrics, challenges, strategic goals).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (mandatory); Master’s or advanced education/certifications (plus).
- 5+ years Neurology sales experience; specialty/biologic/REMS preferred; launch experience preferred.
- 2+ years working with key thought leaders/influential customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care (Neurology concentration).
- Proven sales performance in complex markets with strong integrity/compliance.
- Results-oriented; strong account management with analytical/problem-solving/planning skills.
- Current experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or IDNs.
- Strong understanding of Neurology therapeutic area and marketplace.
