The Rare Neurology Medical Account Specialist (MS) engages Neurology specialists and key stakeholders across diverse care settings within an assigned geography. Delivers clinically focused messaging to drive revenue and achieve product goals.
Responsibilities:
- Engage Rare Neurology experts and key customers in the assigned geography and deliver clinically focused selling messages to launch products, grow brand share/revenue, and achieve product goals.
- Partner with collaboration stakeholders (e.g., Reimbursement and Access Specialists and others) to proactively address customer needs, market dynamics, and trends and develop strategies supporting brand and corporate objectives in the territory.
- Develop strong working relationships with customers and internal partners (clinics, physicians, nurses, patient advocacy groups, Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training and Trade, etc.).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling to understand regional/local healthcare delivery, influencers, and payer systems.
- Use strategic account selling and management skills; develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans.
- Emphasize the “total account call” to educate all personnel in the account on commercially available products.
- Develop strategy and execute tactics in key accounts to establish, generate, and expand market share.
- Identify business opportunities and coordinate efforts to support contracting pull-through.
- Gain deep knowledge of assigned accounts via internal research and integration of stakeholder information (business model, metrics, challenges, and strategic goals).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (mandatory); Master’s degree or advanced certifications a plus.
- 5+ years successful Neurology sales; specialty/biologic/REMS experience strongly preferred; launch experience preferred.
- 2+ years working with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care organizations (Neurology focus).
- Proven consistent sales performance in complex markets with integrity and compliance.
- Results-oriented; proven track record of product launches.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning/account management skills.
- Experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or integrated delivery networks.
- Strong understanding of the Neurology therapeutic area and current marketplace.
