Rare Neurology Medical Account Specialist (MS) — Field Based (Buffalo (Metro), NY)
Responsibilities
- Engage Rare Neurology experts and key customers in assigned geography with clinically focused selling messages to launch products, grow brand share/revenue, and meet product goals.
- Partner with Reimbursement and Access Specialists and other stakeholders to address customer needs, market dynamics, and trends; develop strategies aligned to brand and corporate objectives.
- Build strong relationships with clinicians, physicians, nurses, health care providers, patient advocacy groups, and internal stakeholders (e.g., Clinical Nurse Educators, Marketing, National Accounts, Training and Trade).
- Conduct rare neurology-specific market profiling to understand regional/local delivery, influencers, and payer systems.
- Use strategic account selling/management skills to develop territory/account/customer plans and drive objectives.
- Emphasize the “total account call” to educate all account personnel on commercially available products.
- Develop and execute strategy/tactics within key accounts to establish, generate, and expand market share.
- Identify business opportunities with assigned accounts and coordinate team efforts (e.g., support contracting pull-through).
- Gain deep knowledge of each assigned account via internal research and stakeholder input (business model, metrics, challenges, strategic goals).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (mandatory); Master’s degree or advanced education/certifications (preferred/plus).
- 5+ years successful Neurology sales experience; specialty/biologic/REMS products (strongly preferred); launch experience (preferred).
- 2+ years experience working with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in large group practices, academic hospitals, or managed care organizations (Neurology focus).
- Proven consistent sales performance in complex markets with diverse customer segments, maintaining integrity within compliance guidelines.
- Results-oriented with product launch success.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving/planning account management skills.
- Experience calling on large Neurology group practices and/or integrated delivery networks.
- Strong understanding of the Neurology therapeutic area and marketplace.
