The Position
- Direct clinical engagement and develop/implement medical account strategies for strategic/priority Managed Markets accounts on behalf of Novo Nordisk.
- Serve as primary Medical Affairs point of contact to key payers; provide proactive and reactive evidence-based clinical and HEOR information.
- Maintain strong clinical relationships with business-critical customers (C-suite, Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, other clinical decision makers).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide monthly scientific leadership reports (including budget expenditures); record activities/expenses in OSS/Concur.
- Act as scientific resource to HCPs and employees; attend/present at medical/scientific meetings.
- Establish and execute medical account strategy/plans; gather customer insight (including competitors) to inform decisions.
- Plan/facilitate education and symposia for Managed Care and HCPs.
- Support MM strategic initiatives, mentor team members, and provide leadership/advice on Managed Markets strategy.
- Lead clinical engagement, formulary presentations, and potential pharmacoeconomic/managed care-initiated studies.
- Develop medical account plans and projects aligned with decision-maker interests.
Physical/Work
- 50β75% overnight travel; Field-based anywhere in the US; valid driverβs license required.
Qualifications
- 6+ years in health-related system/pharma/managed care (advanced degree may substitute); 3+ years in field medical liaison or managed care.
- PharmD or other Doctoral degree (MD/PhD) with advanced professional licensure (e.g., NP, RPh) required.
- Knowledge of clinical development/operations and FDA requirements; health economics/value-based discussions; formulary process across payer channels.
- Cross-functional collaboration, leadership, strategic influencing, project management, and strong written/verbal communication.
- Preferred: flexibility across disease areas; account/project management; Managed Markets; health economics/outcomes research; IT systems; Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
