Role Summary

Manufacturing Solution Architect

Responsibilities

  • Define and advance the technical vision and roadmap for Elanco’s manufacturing product group, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Architect and implement IT/OT integrated solutions leveraging EDGE and fog computing for latency-sensitive operations.
  • Design and deploy architectures connecting OT systems (PLCs, SCADA) with IT platforms using MQTT and UNS frameworks.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Principal Engineers to deliver ready-to-build solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Apply emerging technologies such as AI, IIoT, and digital twins to enhance manufacturing efficiency, predictive maintenance, and real-time analytics.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years architecting and delivering enterprise IT systems.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience implementing Unified Namespace (UNS) architectures and semantic models (OPC UA, ISA-95, RAMI 4.0).
    • Familiarity with edge computing platforms such as Azure IoT Edge or AWS Greengrass.
    • Knowledge of modern architecture patterns, including API-first design, event-driven systems, and DevSecOps practices.
    • Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences or pharmaceuticals.
    • Solution Architecture certification in Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

Skills

  • Proven experience integrating OT systems with cloud-native platforms and implementing IIoT solutions in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical foundation with hands-on experience across MES, SAP, and manufacturing SaaS ecosystems (e.g., Tulip, PAS-X, Veeva).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse stakeholders and influence strategic technology decisions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
