Role Summary

Associate Director, Sr Principal Business Analyst focusing on LIMS and ELN within the Product Team. Responsible for aligning scientific research needs with IT solutions, gathering requirements, designing solutions, and ensuring effective implementation and support of LIMS and ELN applications. Leads adoption of GenAI and agentic-AI capabilities to streamline experimental planning, automate routine steps, and improve data quality while meeting security, privacy, and GxP expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for LIMS and ELN systems; identify and prioritize initiatives; define an Agentic Lab roadmap prioritizing AI use cases such as experimental design assistance, plate-map planning, instrument hand-off, QC triage, result interpretation, and draft report generation, aligning with validated vs. non-validated boundaries.
  • Product Management: Oversee lifecycle of LIMS and ELN products from ideation to deployment and continuous improvement; build roadmaps; own AI feature backlog and success metrics.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to document needs for LIMS and ELN applications.
  • Solution Design: Work with IT and development teams to design solutions that meet requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Support: Configure, customize, and deploy LIMS/ELN systems; provide hands-on support during implementation; manage Jira boards, user stories, and specifications; train end users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans; perform user acceptance testing with end users.
  • Training and Documentation: Create training materials and comprehensive documentation including SOPs and system specifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor performance and usage; gather user feedback; identify enhancements.
  • Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and best practices in life sciences.
  • Initiative Implementation: Manage timelines, deliverables, milestones; communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with end users to support LIMS/ELN initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s in Life Sciences, IT, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 7โ€“10 years as a Business Analyst; 3โ€“5 years in a leadership role; extensive experience with LIMS/ELN systems in life sciences environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with LIMS/ELN; familiarity with database management, data integration, and SDLC methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to translate complex scientific requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • GenAI: Hands-on experience delivering agentic AI use cases in enterprise workflows; knowledge of prompt engineering, tooling, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation frameworks for LLMs.
  • Benchling/GxP: Familiarity with Benchling concepts and how to wire agents to these capabilities; familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GxP.
  • LIMS/ELN Platforms: Experience working with LIMS/ELN platforms.
