Manufacturing Capital Project Manager, Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of on-site capital projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop business cases and cost estimates; oversee multi-disciplinary design, installation, and commissioning. Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in line with quality and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, contractors, service providers, and design professionals to define scope, goals, deliverables, resources, risks, and timelines; manage scope changes through formal change management.
- Facilitate project meetings, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to sponsors, stakeholders, and steering teams; support procurement (vendor selection and contract documentation).
- Direct contractors and internal teams through the full project lifecycle, including asset recapitalization aligned with site/company strategies; coach and provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP standards and all regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements; promote “Safety First and Quality Always” and proactively address risks via design reviews, audits, and safe work practices.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a science or engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of capital project delivery experience working in cross-functional teams; strong verbal/written/interpersonal communication; solid organizational and computer skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Working knowledge of cGMP and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA, EU); experience delivering capital projects in life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices).
- Experience managing construction contracts (e.g., AIA); familiarity with SAP, ERP platforms, AutoCAD, and Veeva Vault.
- PMP or Six Sigma certification; working knowledge of USDA and/or EU GMP regulations for veterinary biologics.
