Role Summary
Manager, R&D Finance in Cambridge, MA. Role supports Therapeutic Area Finance Lead with financial and accounting activities for a strategic R&D partnership, manages a complex cost-sharing structure, and supports clinical trial financial duties for the partnered asset.
Responsibilities
- Manage the R&D cost-sharing mechanism for a strategic R&D partnership with an external biotech, including direct and indirect costs (FTEs and FSOs).
- Support financial planning, tracking, reporting, variance analysis, and monthly close processes.
- Assist in budgeting process and budget consolidation for internal governance and joint steering committee.
- Support monthly/quarterly closes, including accruals and journal entries; ensure closes are completed accurately and with high quality.
- Establish effective relationships with functional project members including alliance management; provide business partnering to meet alliance-related deliverables and resolve issues.
- Develop understanding of clinical trial budget management processes and support the clinical trial finance team on monthly close, process improvements, and other deliverables.

Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree
- At least 5 years of experience in R&D/ equivalent and FP&A
- Demonstrated understanding of business operations and measurements
- Experience with reporting, planning, and monthly variance analysis
- Financial planning and reporting systems experience
- Strong experience in working with datasets and reporting for stakeholders
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving
- Broad business exposure beyond the finance function
- Ability to operate effectively in a global/matrix environment
