Position Summary
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Burn Care Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team.
- Lead recruitment, coaching, evaluation, and performance of a geographically dispersed field team, ensuring compliant execution of Medical Affairs priorities.
- Translate scientific insights into actionable medical strategies with cross-functional partners.
- Maintain selective field medical engagement as business needs require (up to 60% travel).
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead execution of Burn Care Medical Affairs education, publication, and research brand plan.
- Set priorities/performance expectations; foster scientific excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support MSL workflow/business processes, Veeva MedComms data input/analysis, IST grant application process, and publication/education development.
- Monitor effectiveness; optimize field coverage, workload distribution, productivity, and customer engagement.
- Translate field insights into evidence generation, publication planning, medical education, and lifecycle management.
- Build relationships with KOLs, investigators, burn centers, and healthcare professionals; guide external scientific engagement.
- Ensure Medical Affairs compliance and quality of scientific exchange; oversee documentation consistency and reporting.
- Analyze insights/competitive intelligence; create metrics/dashboards; drive process and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Required:
- Advanced clinical/scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, DNP, or equivalent).
- 7+ years progressive Medical Affairs experience, including significant field MSL experience.
- People leadership for field-based medical teams.
- Expertise in burn care/wound care/surgery/regenerative medicine/cell therapy.
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs regulations and compliant HCP interactions.
Preferred:
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams; regenerative medicine/biologics/advanced therapies.
- Veeva CRM and Medical Affairs analytics; success with cross-functional initiatives.
Working Conditions
- Remote (US), Midwest preferred; travel up to 60%, including overnight and occasional weekend.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain/maintain hospital credentialing; attend procedures/meetings; lift up to 40 lbs.
Compensation
- Commission-based compensation; target range $185,000–$195,000. Bonus/incentive pay, equity, and benefits may be provided.
