Role Summary
The Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for executing the Operations division’s learning strategy to drive long-term organizational success. This role leads all aspects of division-wide development initiatives, overseeing program design, content development, project management, stakeholder engagement, and vendor relations to deliver impactful virtual and in-person learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders to ensure alignment between learning and business objectives, leveraging expertise in the Operations division and its matrixed environment.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments using qualitative and quantitative methods. Design and facilitate effective training programs utilizing instructional technologies and interactive methodologies to enhance participant engagement and outcomes.
- Assess and report on learning initiative impact through evaluations, metric analysis, and feedback sessions; Summarize and succinctly communicate project status and outcomes to all levels.
- Lead and support program facilitators, including delivery of train-the-trainer programs, ongoing coaching, and performance feedback to uphold program standards.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and oversee budget allocation to maximize return on investment.
- Provide expert consultation to HR and business leaders in executing critical learning and development strategies.
- Collaborate with LMS administrators to define and implement business requirements supporting program administration and sustainability.
- Contribute to organizational development initiatives, including talent development, leadership programs, team effectiveness, and change management efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in learning resources, industry best practices, and organizational policies, and take the lead on cross-divisional projects as needed.
- Support annual learning and development planning by evaluating business priorities and organizational capability needs.
Qualifications
- Strong collaborator who can influence without authority at all levels.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
- Proven organizational and project management skills with the capability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs. Experience in managing large-scale initiatives.
- Proven instructional design and facilitation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preference in Organizational Development, HRD, MBA, Human Resource Management. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, or relevant business experience: learning and development, training, consulting.
