Role Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner provides proactive HR support to employees, leaders, and HR team members across HR initiatives including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compliance, employee communication, rewards and recognition, compensation management, and retention. Serves as a liaison between employees and management to address questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts new employee orientations to ensure understanding of onboarding tasks, payroll timing, benefit plans and enrollment provisions; counsels on plan provisions for informed benefit selection decisions.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to employees and leadership (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary action).
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights concerns; handles issues timely and documents in a compliant fashion.
  • Partners with HR team on employee relations discussions, exit interviews, and performance recognition.
  • Enhances department and organizational reputation by owning new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Maintains and electronically files employee records (new hires, transfers, terminations, etc.).
  • Partners with leadership to manage follow-up discussions on disciplinary write-ups.
  • Aids in monitoring the annual performance review cycle, including objective setting, performance reviews, salary reviews, individual development plans, and career-pathing.
  • Assists with leaves of absence administration as applicable (personal, medical, FMLA, military) in accordance with policy and law.
  • Conducts recurring meetings to improve relationships, morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Coaches on employee-related issues such as performance and professional development.
  • Communicates HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations to employees and leadership.
  • Works with hiring leaders to develop job descriptions and open requisitions.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
  • Supports parking programs and coordinates with Security on related concerns.
  • Creates reports, tracks and analyzes employment data, and recommends program revisions.
  • Assists employees with requests and questions and promotes a productive working environment and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required: 5+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Required: Ability to align HR initiatives with business goals and drive continual improvements
  • Required: Experience coaching and mentoring at management level and interfacing at all levels
  • Required: Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Required: Ability to manage multiple projects in a growth-oriented environment
  • Required: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills

Education

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Additional Requirements

  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods; repetitive motion; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds; environmental requirements of desk/cubicle work.
  • Travel: Occasionally
  • Overtime may be required
