Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance expertise to service, repair, and maintain process and utility pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
- Understand customer (Operations) needs and requirements; work effectively with customers and provide good customer service.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
- Improve equipment uptime, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness via condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and assisting engineering changes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair equipment while following departmental rules/regulations.
- Prioritize safety and follow applicable safety procedures.
- Identify root causes of machine problems (e.g., vibration/temperature issues, bearing failures, abnormal noises, poor performance).
- Perform repairs/overhauls of equipment (e.g., gearboxes, pumps, blowers, fans, drives), including disassembly, setting tolerances, aligning, and resetting timing.
- Set up equipment to design specifications (timing, leveling, alignment).
- Operate precision alignment equipment (e.g., Roma-align, lasers).
- Diagnose problems quickly/accurately and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Document repair actions in the CMMS program.
- Assist outside primary responsibilities and learn other skills as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas/work authorization
- Must pass background check and drug screening
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Proficient English communication (read/write/speak)
- Proficient with business software (e.g., Maximo, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Teamwork skills
- Ability to work around equipment, climb ladders/stairs, and use PPE; possible exposure to harsh weather
- Hands-on repair experience
- Use basic troubleshooting tools (e.g., multi-meters, calipers)
Additional Information:
- Overtime may be required during shutdowns, emergencies, or heavy workloads
- Night shift; training is day shift, with transition to 12-hr 2-2-3 schedule
- Work involves potentially dangerous/hazardous equipment and materials; safety is paramount
