Job Summary
Provide expert legal advice and counsel to business partners on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel; support departments including Market Access (payer strategy, trade & distribution, government pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on commercial initiatives by advancing strategy, addressing legal risks, and protecting integrity/reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on Medicaid, Medicare, 340B program, Veterans Health Care Act; market access/reimbursement; government pricing/price reporting compliance; CMS final rules and correspondence (letters, public comments).
- Advise on federal/state legislation affecting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and drug price reporting/transparency; contracting/services with specialty distributors and pharmacies.
- Support data and special projects; brand strategic planning and business operation plans.
- Monitor evolving healthcare laws/regulations and enforcement landscape.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws/policies, including Anti-kickback Statute and other U.S. healthcare compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with legal teams (commercial, pipeline, privacy) and review select Communication Review Committee materials.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD experience advising on life sciences legal matters (law firm and/or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience with market access statutes/regulations/guidance (Medicaid, 340B, Veterans Administration, anti-kickback; state pricing transparency; OIG guidance/advisory opinions; False Claims Act; PhRMA Code).
- Strong communication (verbal/written), contracting/redlining, analytical/problem-solving, and organizational skills; manage outside counsel and budgets.
- Specialty medicines legal experience highly desired.
Pay Range: $214,400β$321,600 (eligible for annual bonus and annual equity).
Flex Designation: Remote-Eligible (Remote/Hybrid/On-Site options).
