Job Summary
Provide expert advice and counseling to the business on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel and provide legal support to business partners across Market Access (payer strategy, trade & distribution, government pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on commercial initiatives, advancing company strategy while addressing legal risk and protecting integrity and reputation.
- Provide legal advice and counsel on statutory/regulatory obligations under Medicaid, Medicare, 340B, and the Veterans Health Care Act.
- Advise on market access and reimbursement; government pricing and price reporting compliance.
- Address Centers for Medicare and Medicaid final rules/correspondence, including letters and public comments.
- Track and advise on proposed/enacted federal and state legislation affecting pharmaceutical market access, pricing, reimbursement, and drug price reporting/transparency laws.
- Support services and contracting related to specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies.
- Support data and special projects; brand strategic planning and business operation plans.
- Stay current on evolving healthcare legislation/regulations and enforcement landscape.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, including the Anti-kickback Statute and other US healthcare compliance laws.
- Collaborate with legal colleagues (commercial, pipeline, privacy); review select materials in the Communication Review Committee.

Qualifications (Required/Preferred)
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD experience advising in life sciences (law firm and/or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience with Medicaid, 340B, Veterans Administration, anti-kickback statutes, drug pricing transparency laws, OIG guidance/advisory opinions, False Claims Act, and PhRMA Code.
- Strong communication (verbal/written), contracting/redlining, analytical/problem-solving, and ability to manage outside counsel and budget.
- Specialty medicines legal experience highly desired.

Pay Range: $214,400 - $321,600.

Flex/Remote Eligibility: Remote-Eligible; remote/hybrid/on-site options per Flex @ Vertex program.
