Responsibilities:
- Design, build, validate, and maintain ML, NLP, and generative AI solutions for biomedical and pharmacovigilance use cases.
- Develop tools for adverse event intake, case triage, coding assistance, duplicate detection, signal prioritization, and trend analysis.
- Engineer predictive models for emerging risks, patient patterns, and operational bottlenecks.
- Translate scientific/business requirements into production-ready AI applications; define and execute PV technology strategy.
- Build scalable data pipelines and integrate structured/unstructured datasets; apply ontology mapping/terminology harmonization (e.g., MedDRA, WHO Drug).
- Ensure data lineage/audit readiness; modernize safety/organovigilance with AI automation and decision support.
- Support GxP- and regulatory-aligned AI tools; establish model governance (performance monitoring, XAI, change control) and maintain validation/lifecycle documentation.
- Deliver validated AI solutions and dashboards to improve safety signal detection/prioritization and case processing efficiency.

Minimum Requirements:
- BS (8+ yrs) / MS (6+ yrs) / PhD (2+ yrs) in CS/science/engineering/applied math/data science/biomedical engineering/bioinformatics/AI or related.
- 5+ yrs AI engineering/ML/advanced analytics in biopharma/healthcare/regulated industries; 5+ yrs hands-on AI tools (Python/R/Matlab; TensorFlow/PyTorch; cloud ML).
- Production track record; entrepreneurial transformation mindset; hands-on AI-native product development (agentic/LLM/autonomous/computer vision/process optimization).
- Familiarity with data architecture/cloud; deep cloud-native/platform engineering; communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ yrs NLP/LLMs/knowledge graphs/biomedical text mining.
- PV safety system experience (Argus/ArisG/Veeva or equivalent); knowledge of PV/clinical development/healthcare regulations.
- PK/PD modeling/simulation; familiarity with GVP/FDA/EMA/ICH and data privacy.

Job Location:
- Durham, NC hybrid (4 days in office; 1 day/week from home).
