Operations
Position Details
- Supports the Medicated Feed Additives (MFA) business of Phibro in Willow Island, WV.
- Quality Control laboratory provides testing and release support for the Willow Island manufacturing site.
- Preferred candidate meets criteria for an Analyst III, IV, or V level.
- Schedule: 4–10 hour rotating daytime shift covering weekends; overtime depending on business needs.
- Hourly rate range: $23.00–$30.00.

Key Responsibilities
- Receives and prepares samples for analytical testing and initiation of stability studies.
- Performs physical testing of routine and non-routine samples with little supervision (raw materials, in-process testing, API & finished good release, stability testing).
- Supports site quality, safety, and production needs and goals compliantly.
- Works within cross-functional teams and coordinates own work to assist lab with priority projects.
- Completes all activities following site cGMP, safety requirements, and Phibro standards.
- Conducts laboratory activities supporting experiments, studies, and projects (understands/follows cGMP; maintains data and records per GMP and SOPs; runs routine samples independently; recognizes abnormal results/instrument problems and reports with input to cause/solutions).
- Performs routine tests and experiments following compendial/standard procedures.
- Uses Lean and 5-S practices.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment (balances, pH meter, sieves, ovens) and advanced equipment (viscosity, Karl Fischer, UV/VIS, HPLC, GC).
- Maintains and follows SOPs; may assist with writing/revising procedures.
- Generates protocols and executes projects with little oversight; may lead projects.
- Records results on standardized forms; prepares reports, charts, and graphs.
- Investigates aberrant data and generates summary reports; applies problem-solving techniques in a team environment.
- Considered a Subject Matter Expert in procedures; provides training in and out of department.
- Maintains safe/clean work area; follows good documentation practices.
- Identifies EHS hazards and proposes solutions to improve lab/safety compliance.

Technical Skills Required
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to use/perform HPLC, UV, GC, and other instrumental techniques.
- Ability to generate protocols and summarize data.
- Ability to communicate within/outside department; may contact vendors and/or external customers.
- Ability to work weekends and off shifts as needed.
- Proficient with MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to utilize Empower, Trackwise, and SAP.
- Familiarity with Lean concepts and 5-S.

Skills
- Strong time management; manages multiple priorities/projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective team collaboration.

Education & Experience (Analyst Levels)
- Analyst III: High school or equivalent with ~10 years lab experience (preferably FDA regulated); or 2-year degree with ~3 years; or B.S. related science with ~1.5 years.
- Analyst IV: High school or equivalent with ~15 years lab experience (preferably FDA regulated); or 2-year degree with ~5 years; or B.S. related science with ~3 years.
- Analyst V: High school or equivalent with ~20 years lab experience (preferably FDA regulated); or 2-year degree with ~10 years; or B.S. related science with ~5 years.

Physical Requirements
- Operation of laboratory equipment.
- Frequently required: bend, sit, stand, talk/hear constantly, use hands constantly, walk.
- Vision abilities: adjust focus, close vision, depth perception, distance vision, peripheral vision.
