General Summary:
The Kidney Territory Account Manager (KTAM) establishes and maintains relationships with Health Care Professionals (HCPs), develops a strategic business plan, and communicates disease and product knowledge to HCPs and centers of care. Reports to a Regional Field Leader (RFL) and leads engagement with nephrologists while serving as an account manager for specialty kidney clinics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build meaningful relationships with nephrologists and related HCPs; manage specialty kidney clinic accounts
- Develop and maintain disease/product expertise and patient unmet-need knowledge to educate appropriate patient use
- Understand assigned physicians and territory/market dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision-maker relationships, patient protocols, referral networks, and access/drivers & barriers
- Achieve individual territory performance and contribute to area/national goals
- Collaborate cross-functionally; attend meetings; take on requested projects
- Exercise sound judgment and comply with regulatory/compliance guidelines and company policies
Knowledge/Skills:
- Communicate complex clinical disease/product
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication
- Initiative, strong work ethic, and customer/patient-focused mindset
- Cross-functional, team-based skills; continuous learning
- Clinical acumen, selling skills, business acumen, customer relationships
- Expertise with disease centers of care, payer landscape, relationship/account management
- Sales success track record; IT capability (including Veeva CRM)
- Experience in highly matrixed environments
Education/Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree
- Typically 5+ years pharmaceutical field sales; experience in kidney/renal or rare disease/similar biotech/specialty markets
- Product launch experience highly desired
Requirements:
- Establish customer credentials (trainings, background screens, drug testing, vaccinations)
- Live/work within territory (may require proximity to major airport)
- Valid driverβs license; travel up to 80%; work after hours; 10β30% overnight travel
Pay/Benefits:
- Pay range: $133,600β$200,400; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards
