Role Summary
- The Internal Medicine (IM) Key Account Manager (KAM) leads the strategic direction, development, and execution of account plans and partnerships with aligned Leading Health Systems (key accounts) and Integrated Account Teams (IATs) to accomplish mutually aligned goals in a compliant manner.
Responsibilities
Customer Engagement:
- Identify key customers and decision/influence networks.
- Maintain relationships with key customer C-suite and decision roles.
- Develop relationships with KOLs and stakeholders in local health economies.
- Influence local/regional/national healthcare issues and best practices.
- Co-develop and co-execute project plans, holding customer and Pfizer accountable.
Account Management:
- Manage prioritized accounts to achieve agreed business objectives.
- Plan collaboratively to achieve Pfizer and customer goals.
- Analyze local environment and account business models to build account plans.
- Leverage Pfizer value proposition to drive action.
- Connect stakeholder insights to create patient/customer/Pfizer-focused plans.
Business & People Leadership:
- Lead and support development of IATs with cross-functional specialists compliantly.
- Partner with IAT to understand local market/customer drivers.
- Shape KAM efforts locally/regionally/nationally with cross-functional teams.
- Share/scale proven practices; serve as local expert on healthcare reform.
- Lead strategic planning priorities and pull-through activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- 5β10 years pharmaceutical/biotech/medical/marketing/sales experience preferred; 3+ years in promoted/developmental leadership roles preferred.
- Management and/or Account Management experience strongly preferred.
