POSITION: Key Account Manager (KAM) β hospital-based or integrated sites of care role covering the Sacramento, CA territory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Increase product access and sales by navigating institutional formulary approval and educating customers on appropriate product use.
- Secure product placement on account protocols and ensure products are in EMR systems.
- Develop relationships with infusion sites, LTACHs, and home infusion companies.
- Create territory and account-level plans to grow utilization, formulary access, and expand the customer base.
- Align solutions, messaging, and stakeholders to maximize account performance.
- Build relationships with hospital opinion leaders (physicians, medical staff, pharmacies).
- Plan and implement hospital-oriented education forums.
- Partner with hospital treatment committees to include products in disease state protocols.
- Support continuity of care by ensuring products are included on discharge protocols/orders and aligned with approved reimbursement resources.
- Coordinate with Sales, Medical Affairs, National Accounts, Marketing, and Sales Administration on formulary changes and pull-through initiatives.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven hospital environment sales track record in assigned territory/accounts.
- Acute care hospital or integrated sites of care sales experience.
- Ability to create alternate sites of care.
- Understanding of selling in a buy-and-bill market.
- Experience planning and executing new product/solution launches in a hospital setting.
- Self-starter; works well independently and in a team under shifting priorities.
- Strong project management; prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment.
- Strong technical product knowledge.
- Willingness/ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements (e.g., childhood immunization proof, negative TB test).
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- 7+ years related pharmaceutical sales/marketing and/or training experience.
- 3+ years in an account selling role in a hospital/account ecosystem.
- Valid driverβs license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel frequently; attend conferences and sales meetings.
- Preferred: Buy/Bill and Home Infusion experience; acute care/infectious disease/hemodialysis hospital experience.
Travel/Work Setting:
- Field-based with frequent day-to-day travel expected.
