Position Summary:
MannKind is seeking a Key Account Manager (KAM) to support Afrezzaโs commercial growth within targeted Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Academic Medical Centers (AMCs), and Pediatric Endocrinology Centers. Reporting to the Regional Director of Key Accounts (East), this role executes territory-specific account plans, manages day-to-day engagement with institutional stakeholders, and aligns tactics with regional and national access strategies.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Account Engagement & Execution: Manage assigned institutional accounts; build relationships with clinical, administrative, and pharmacy decision-makers to support product access and demand generation.
- Protocol & Pathway Integration: Work with care teams, prescribers, and EMR stakeholders to include Afrezza in treatment protocols, care pathways, and formularies.
- Tactical Account Planning: Develop and execute detailed tactical plans; maintain accurate, up-to-date account profiles.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Sales, Market Access, Trade, Field Reimbursement, Medical Affairs, and Patient Support to address account needs and drive Afrezza adoption.
- Pull-Through Support: Execute pull-through strategies to ensure patient access once formulary access is secured.
- Market Insights & Reporting: Provide insights on access barriers, opportunities, and competitor activity; analyze data to update and optimize account plans.
Qualifications:
- 5โ8 years pharmaceutical/biotech experience; 2โ3+ years in an institutional or account-based role.
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree a plus.
- Proven track record engaging with IDNs, AMCs, or large group practices.
- Strong understanding of formulary processes, care delivery models, and account-based selling.
- Experience collaborating across Sales, Access, Medical, and Marketing teams.
- Diabetes/endocrinology knowledge preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Field-based role with regular in-person customer engagement.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as business dictates.
- Represent MannKind at local/regional/national conferences and events.
- Travel within assigned geography (50โ75%).
