Description Overview
- Perform planned, project, and emergency repairs of production and facility equipment.
Scope of the Role
- Complete general work orders in SAP.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Interface with other technicians, contractors, and engineers across 3 shifts in a team environment.
- Preassemble equipment for upcoming projects (e.g., building electrical panels).
- Order parts and adhere to work completion timelines.
- Travel may be required to other manufacturing and packaging sites within and outside of Allegan.
Experience / Qualifications (Required)
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Certificate of completion as an Electrical Journey Worker; licensed with the State of Michigan.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability working in a team environment.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Open-minded and adaptable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (SAP knowledge preferred).
- Strong math skills.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
- Commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines.
- Willingness to mentor apprentices.
Additional Requirements
- History of good attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime; able to work weekends and extended hours as needed.
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts; heavy lifting; reliable transportation.
- Protective equipment: must be able to wear negative and/or positive pressure respirators daily for long periods; medically cleared without restrictions; clean shaven to seal respirator.
