Role Summary

The IT Product Lead - Digital Applications will lead a portfolio of digital products critical to the company’s success, driving strategy, development, and operational excellence of the digital application ecosystem. The role focuses on defining product roadmaps, cross-functional collaboration, and leading agile product teams to deliver digital solutions that accelerate drug discovery, development, and commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Own at least one digital product with a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap within the Digital Applications family.
  • Gather user needs with senior product leads and stakeholders to translate into requirements and user stories.
  • Conduct market research and technology assessments to support planning and identify innovation opportunities.
  • Prioritize product initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and compliance.
  • Own architecture and design of at least one product ensuring secure, scalable digital solutions.
  • Update and customize E2B profiles and workflow customizations.
  • Design and automate safety reports (SUSAR, PSUR, DSUR, PBRER, CIOMS I/II) and case listings.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, packages, views, and PL/SQL procedures for data analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate Argus Safety upgrades with internal teams and vendors.
  • Lead product development across lifecycle from concept to launch and post-launch optimization using Agile methods.
  • Write user stories, define acceptance criteria, and refine specifications aligned with goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and QA to ensure timely delivery of high-quality applications.
  • Coordinate with vendors/service providers to support delivery timelines and operational needs.
  • Improve user experience across digital products using usability feedback and end-user research.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business teams, translating technical concepts into business terms and vice versa.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to align goals and priorities across functional areas.
  • Facilitate cross-team communication for effective execution and issue resolution.
  • Lead planning sessions and contribute to product-related decisions for digital products.
  • Conduct user training and onboarding on Safety systems, reporting tools, and compliance procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 7 years of related experience; or Master’s in mathematics, statistics, or engineering with 5 years; or PhD with 4 years; or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years supporting Enterprise IT enabling business functions; minimum 6+ years in IT focused on digital applications or product management in life sciences/pharma; proven leadership of agile product development teams.
  • Industry knowledge: Strong understanding of drug discovery, clinical development, or commercialization lifecycle; experience delivering complex digital products with measurable business value.
  • Technology: Experience with relevant platforms or technologies (e.g., SaaS like Veeva/Salesforce, cloud (AWS/Azure), LIMS, SAP ERP, EDC, CTMS, CRM); familiarity with regulatory frameworks in a GxP environment; knowledge of Oracle Argus Safety is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; or Master’s degree in mathematics/statistics/engineering; or PhD; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Occasional travel (5–10%) to other sites, conferences, or vendor locations.
  • On-call availability for critical escalations.
