Instrument Technician – Medicine Foundry (Process Instrumentation Maintenance)
Responsibilities:
- Comply with all HSE requirements, including safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices; follow LOTO processes and report safety concerns, incidents, and injuries to supervisor.
- Meet quality standards defined by cGMPs, Global Quality Standards, and local procedures.
- Maintain process instrumentation by performing preventative and corrective maintenance (pressure, temperature, flow, pH, conductivity, level, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and diagnose process instrumentation equipment and make repairs to minimize downtime.
- Operate electrical, pneumatic, and temperature test equipment (e.g., flukes, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
- Support IQ/OQ activities for new equipment installations and modifications.
- Read P&ID drawings and schematics.
- Complete accurate, complete, and legible work order documentation in GMARS.
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- 5+ years of industrial process instrumentation and calibration experience in FDA-regulated industry.
- Strong electrical systems and calibration troubleshooting skills, including:
- Instrumentation: pressure, temperature, flow, level, pH, conductivity.
- Electrical test equipment (e.g., flukes, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
- Electrical troubleshooting (24 VDC to 120 VAC).
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas/work authorization for this role.
Additional Preferences:
- Associates degree or Technical Certificate in electrical, automation, or process instrumentation.
- Regulated GMP manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work without close supervision; ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated high-level customer service.
- Problem-solving ability for process instrumentation equipment.
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and CMMS proficiency (GMARS).
Other Information / Schedule:
- Temporary location in Carmel, Indiana; training at Lilly Technology Center (Indianapolis and Lebanon, Indiana); permanent location at Lilly Medicine Foundry (Lebanon, Indiana).
- 2-2-3 shift (days or nights); willing to work overtime during peak periods (initial calibrations).
- Comply with building gowning and PPE requirements.
