Role Summary

HypoPara Clinical Specialist (Portland, ME) focusing on supporting the launch of Yorvipath, developing product and disease state knowledge to engage in clinical dialogue with healthcare professionals, and driving sales performance within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and identify customer needs; support pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy; position Ascendis Pharma as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Educate on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
  • Engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts; effectively use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share information with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand practice structure, business model, influencers, and opportunities; identify business opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to achieve sales objectives with appropriate resources.
  • Develop and execute a business plan with leaders; understand formulary approvals and opportunities for implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Maintain administrative excellence: manage work hours, sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples, and expense reporting.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment; rare disease and injectable experience and adult endocrinology preferred.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments; start-up experience preferred.
  • Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
  • Proven track record of strong performance; experience launching new products preferred.
  • Experience with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Self-starter with strong decision-making, judgment, and ethics; ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Experience in a specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environment addressing customer and patient needs compliantly.
  • Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs; analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities.
  • Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information ethically and effectively.
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements; updates may be necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; overnight travel required.
