Role Summary

HypoPara Clinical Specialist who will be responsible for understanding and identifying a customer’s needs, support pull-through activities relative to the customer strategy, and to ensure that Ascendis Pharma is viewed as a valued partner to healthcare professionals and their patients. Primary focus on supporting the launch of Yorvipath.

Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge to engage in appropriate clinical dialogue with healthcare professionals. Educate on approved indications and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.
  • Use product knowledge to engage in customized discussions and in-person interactions based on customer needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive outstanding sales performance to meet or exceed forecasts.
  • Effectively use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share information with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with customers to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, network structure, customer needs and identify business opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools to understand and evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives ethically.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop a business plan to achieve goals and delivery on sales objectives; understand formulary approvals and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Demonstrate administrative excellence in managing work hours, sales call data, customer objectives responses, samples and expenses, and other administrative items.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
  • Required: 5+ years of sales experience in a specialty environment; rare disease and injectable experience; adult endocrinology experience preferred.
  • Preferred: Start-up experience; experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services; new product launch experience; patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong decision-making, judgment, and ethics; able to collaborate across functions.
  • Experience in a specialty drug environment addressing customer and patient needs in a compliant way.
  • Ability to develop a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs; ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities.
  • Experience establishing new customer relationships and communicating technical information effectively and ethically.
  • Ability to meet credentialing requirements; valid driver’s license and safe driving record; overnight travel required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
