Responsibilities:
- Use product knowledge to engage in customized, in-person discussions based on customer needs in a compliant, ethical manner
- Drive sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts
- Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations
- Maintain knowledge of the local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share with relevant stakeholders
- Work with customers/accounts to understand practice structure, business model, influencers, network structure, and customer needs to identify opportunities
- Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources effectively and ethically
- Develop and execute business plans with leaders to achieve goals; understand formulary approvals and how they fit the plan
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver resources and pull-through in the territory
- Maintain administrative excellence (work hours, sales call data, customer responses, sample/expense reporting, and other administrative items)
Requirements:
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years specialty sales experience (preferably rare disease/injectables; adult endocrinology disease state experience preferred)
- Ability to work in ambiguous, changing environments (start-up experience preferred)
- Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services
- Proven strong performance
- Experience in new product launch environment preferred
- Experience working with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies
- Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics
- Ability to collaborate across functions
- Specialty drug (rare/orphan) environment experience
- Ability to develop business plans based on customer/patient needs
- Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress, diagnose issues, and identify opportunities
- Experience establishing customer relationships and communicating technical information effectively
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements
- Valid driverโs license and safe driving record
- Overnight travel required
