Role Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the dynamic needs of Exelixis’ Human Resources department by providing operational and administrative support that creates and maintains efficient work processes, systems and programs. By leveraging a professional level of Human Resources background and experience, the HR Generalist will actively partner across various human resource specialisms to accomplish HR initiatives that are aligned with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with functional leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals
- Deliver support across key HR functions: employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, HRIS, compliance, and programs
- Handle employee relations intake and maintain logs and records of employee relations issues generated through email correspondence, phone calls, and/or written communication
- Coordinate New Hire Orientation in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Employee Experience and Talent Acquisition)
- Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to ensure offboarding paperwork is accurate and up to date
- Manage offboarding process: administer exit interviews, prepare termination paperwork, and oversee outplacement as needed
- Respond to unemployment claims, as needed
- Responsible for managing and updating shared folders, documentation, SOPs, job aids, etc. with accuracy and audit-readiness
- Serve as the department’s records champion ensuring that information is kept and managed in a consistent, systematic, reliable and compliant manner
- Responsible for maintaining HR information on the company’s employee intranet site
- Perform regular and ad-hoc internal audits
- Coordinate HR staff meetings
- Perform other HR duties as needed including special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years professional level Human Resources experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years professional level, HR Generalist or HR Specialist experience
- Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Workday experience highly preferred
