Hospital Senior Account Manager, Anti-Infectives - Troy, MI

The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. The role engages Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision makers (CMO, Pharmacy Directors, P&T Committee members) to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales objectives by developing, implementing, and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific and clinical information for the disease state area and approved product.
- Deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and appropriate personnel using a customer engagement selling model.
- Collaborate across a matrixed sales organization with provider account directors, reimbursement managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Drive formulary wins and market access into consistent prescribing/utilization within hospital accounts.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders in discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Identify and address barriers to product adoption; support patient access and therapy continuity.
- Conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs and compliant scientific discussions.
- Analyze utilization trends and customer insights to identify opportunities; provide feedback and develop territory plans with leadership.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance with corporate/industry policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (overnight included).
- Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success.
- Proven demand generation in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience.
- Account selling expertise; deep knowledge of health systems business model and stakeholder decision-making (P&T, formulary, etc.).
- Experience engaging specialist physicians/hospitalists/pharmacy leadership; collaborating across hospital and community care.
- Strong presentation/selling and business acumen; data/trend analysis; compliance with regulatory/legal standards.
