Hospital Senior Account Manager, Anti-Infectives - Tampa, FL

Role: The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Engages Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management, discharge planners, and key IDN decision makers (CMO, Pharmacy Directors, P&T Committee members) to drive sales.
Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales objectives by developing and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships; engage clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver sales presentations using a customer engagement selling model.
- Secure and translate formulary wins/market access into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders in clinical discussions (patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, readmission reduction).
- Collaborate with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners to support access and therapy continuity.
- Identify/address adoption barriers (clinical, operational, behavioral, process).
- Plan coverage to achieve call metrics; deliver comprehensive clinical brand presentations.
- Understand account healthcare delivery systems and decision makers; analyze trends to drive performance.
- Conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs and compliant scientific discussions.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; manage territory budget and complete administrative tasks.
- Maintain compliance with corporate/industry policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech; 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50%; ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance; product launch success.
- Demand generation success in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience preferred.
- Expertise in account selling/complex sales; deep health systems model knowledge.
- Experience engaging specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.
- Ability to analyze data/trends and create actionable plans; flexibility to market changes.
