Hospital Senior Account Manager supports formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Drives sales by engaging Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management, discharge planners, and IDN decision makers (as needed).
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve/exceed sales targets by developing and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Secure and translate hospital formulary wins/market access into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy, medical, and operational stakeholders in clinical discussions (patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, readmission reduction).
- Collaborate with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners to support access and therapy continuity.
- Identify/address barriers impacting product adoption (clinical, operational, behavioral, process-related).
- Optimize call coverage/frequency and achieve call metrics.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations and conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs.
- Understand account healthcare delivery system (physician hierarchy, pharmacy personnel, clinical nursing staff).
- Analyze utilization trends/insights to identify opportunities and drive performance.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; develop territory plans with Regional Sales Director/brand team.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/medical/biotech industry experience.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (overnight included).
- Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance and proven product launch success.
- Demand generation success within hospitals.
- Anti-Infective experience.
- Account selling expertise; knowledge of health systems model/stakeholders (P&T, formulary).
- Experience engaging specialists/hospitalists/pharmacy leadership.
- Experience collaborating across hospital and community care settings.
- Strong business/data analysis skills; adaptability; compliance track record.
