The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Engages Infectious Disease physicians and other stakeholders (hospitalists, pharmacists, case management, discharge planners, and key IDN decision makers as needed) to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve/exceed hospital sales targets via an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical/non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver compliant sales presentations to HCPs/APPs/medical staff.
- Secure and translate formulary/market access wins into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Conduct clinical discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Facilitate collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.
- Identify and remove clinical/operational/process barriers to product adoption.
- Optimize call metrics, coverage, and frequency; deliver educational programs/in-services.
- Maintain product/account knowledge; analyze utilization trends to drive performance.
- Provide territory budget management and complete administrative tasks promptly; maintain compliance with policies.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS from accredited institution; valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharma/medical/biotech experience; 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, antimicrobial stewardship experience.
- Travel up to 50%; lift/move up to 35 lbs.
Preferred:
- Top-tier sales performance; demand generation in hospitals; anti-infective experience.
- Account selling expertise and deep health system model knowledge; experience with specialist physicians/hospitalists/pharmacy leadership.
- Data analysis for business planning; adaptability; strong presentation and compliance.
