The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Engages Infectious Disease physicians and hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and key decision makers (e.g., CMO, Pharmacy Directors, P&T committee members as needed) to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets in the assigned territory by developing and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information within the disease state area and approved product.
- Deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and clinic personnel; optimize customer engagement using available resources.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers) to drive aligned execution.
- Secure formulary and market access wins and translate them into consistent prescribing/utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders in clinical discussions (patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, readmission reduction).
- Facilitate collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners to support access and therapy continuity.
- Identify/address barriers impacting product adoption; plan activities to meet call metrics.
- Conduct educational programs and compliant scientific discussions.
- Analyze utilization trends/insights to find opportunities and drive performance; provide feedback on marketing strategy and territory effectiveness.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance with corporate and industry policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech industry.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals and health systems.
- Hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship experience.
- Travel up to 50% (including overnight).
- Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success.
- Demand generation success in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience preferred.
- Account selling expertise; deep Health Systems business model knowledge.
- Experience engaging specialist physicians/hospitalists/pharmacists and collaborating across hospital and community settings.
- Strong data analysis for actionable business plans; flexibility; compliance with regulatory/legal standards.
