The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales performance objectives by developing, implementing, and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand unique needs/priorities.
- Provide scientific and clinical information and deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and other clinic personnel.
- Collaborate across a matrixed sales organization to drive aligned execution and business success.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets; prioritize high-value customers and growth opportunities.
- Secure and translate hospital formulary and market access wins into consistent prescribing/utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders in discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Facilitate collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.
- Identify/address barriers impacting product adoption; plan activities to meet call metrics.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations and conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs.
- Analyze utilization trends and market dynamics; provide feedback on marketing strategy.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharma/medical/biotech industry experience.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals and health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% and lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success; demand generation in hospitals.
- Anti-infective experience; complex account selling.
- Deep Health Systems model knowledge (P&T, formulary, etc.); experience engaging relevant hospital stakeholders.
- Experience across hospital and community care settings; strong presentation and selling skills; data-driven business planning; regulatory/compliance adherence.
