The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Drives sales by engaging Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision makers (CMO, Pharmacy Directors, P&T Committee members) as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet/exceed sales performance objectives by developing and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver sales presentations using a customer engagement selling model.
- Collaborate across a matrixed sales organization with provider account directors, reimbursement managers, and cross-functional partners.
- Secure formulary and market access wins and translate them into consistent prescribing/utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders in discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Identify and address barriers to product adoption; plan activities to achieve call metrics.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations; conduct educational programs and compliant scientific discussions.
- Analyze utilization trends and local market dynamics to drive performance.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech industry.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (including overnight). Lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success.
- Demand generation success in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience preferred.
- Account selling in complex processes; deep knowledge of health systems model and decision makers.
- Experience engaging specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership; collaborate across care settings.
- Data analysis skills, adaptability, regulatory/compliance adherence, exceptional presentation.
