The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales targets in an assigned territory by developing, implementing, and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information within the disease state area and approved product.
- Deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and clinic personnel using a customer engagement selling model.
- Collaborate across a matrixed sales organization; partner with provider account and reimbursement stakeholders to drive execution.
- Secure and translate formulary wins/market access into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy, medical, and operational stakeholders in discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Identify/address barriers impacting product adoption.
- Plan/organize activities to achieve call metrics; optimize coverage/frequency.
- Conduct educational programs (in-services, speaker programs) and compliant scientific discussions.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/medical/biotech industry experience.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals and health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Up to 50% travel; ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred:
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success; demand generation in hospitals.
- Anti-infective experience.
- Knowledge of health systems model and decision processes (P&T, formulary).
