The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales objectives in assigned territory by developing, implementing, and executing an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific and clinical information within the disease state area and approved product.
- Deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and clinic personnel using a customer engagement selling model.
- Collaborate across matrixed sales organization (e.g., Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, cross-functional stakeholders) to drive aligned execution.
- Achieve sales targets by maximizing sales and prioritizing high-value customers and growth opportunities.
- Secure and translate formulary wins/market access into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy, medical, and operational stakeholders to support patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Identify and address barriers to product adoption; conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs.
- Plan/organize activities to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals and health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (overnight included).
- Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance and product launch success.
- Demand generation success in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience.
- Expertise in account selling/complex sales processes.
- Deep knowledge of health systems business model and decision-making (P&T, formulary).
- Experience engaging specialists/hospitalists/pharmacists and working across hospital and community settings.
- Data/trend analysis to build business plans; adaptability; strong compliance; exceptional presentation and selling skills.
