Responsibilities:
- Support and advance formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across assigned hospital accounts.
- Develop, implement, and execute an integrated territory business plan to meet/exceed sales objectives.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and other personnel.
- Optimize customer engagement using available resources; collaborate across a matrixed sales organization.
- Secure and translate formulary and market access achievements into consistent prescribing/utilization.
- Lead clinical discussions supporting patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Collaborate with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.
- Identify and address barriers to product adoption; plan activities to achieve call metrics and coverage.
- Conduct compliant educational programs (in-services, speaker programs, scientific discussions).
- Analyze utilization/customer trends and provide feedback to improve marketing and territory performance; manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- Valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical/medical/biotech industry.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (including overnight).
- Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven top-tier sales performance and product launch success.
- Demand generation experience in hospitals.
- Anti-infective experience.
- Expertise in account selling/complex sales processes.
- Deep knowledge of health system business model and stakeholder decision-making (e.g., P&T, formulary).
- Experience engaging specialists, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership; collaborating across care settings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong data analysis for business planning.
- Flexibility/adaptability; strong presentation/selling skills; regulatory/compliance adherence.
