The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Develop and execute an integrated territory business plan; drive sales by engaging Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management/discharge teams, and IDN decision makers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve/exceed sales targets via integrated business planning and prioritizing high-value customers.
- Secure/translate hospital formulary and market access into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders on patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Collaborate with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners for access and therapy continuity.
- Identify/address clinical/operational/process barriers to product adoption.
- Plan/organize activities to optimize call metrics, coverage, and frequency.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations and conduct compliant educational programs (in-services/speaker programs).
- Build product/account knowledge; analyze utilization trends and local market dynamics.
- Provide marketing/territory performance feedback; develop territory plans with the Regional Sales Director.
- Manage territory budget and complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS (accredited); valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years in pharma/medical/biotech.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50%; lift/move up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top-tier sales performance; demand generation in hospitals; Anti-Infective experience.
- Account selling expertise; health systems business model knowledge.
- Experience engaging specialist physicians/hospitalists/pharmacy leadership.
Compensation/Benefits (US): $165,000β$275,000 base; annual bonus; eligibility for long-term incentive; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and paid caregiver/parental/medical leave.
