The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports formulary access, protocol/order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute an integrated territory business plan to meet/exceed sales objectives.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to understand customer needs/priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver compliant sales presentations to physicians, APPs, medical staff, and other personnel.
- Secure formulary wins and translate market access into consistent prescribing/utilization.
- Engage pharmacy, medical, and operational stakeholders in clinical discussions (patient ID, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, readmission reduction).
- Collaborate with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners for access/therapy continuity.
- Identify/address barriers to product adoption; plan activities to achieve call metrics.
- Deliver clinical brand presentations and conduct educational programs/in-services/speaker programs.
- Analyze utilization trends and market dynamics to identify opportunities; provide feedback and develop territory plans.
- Manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance with policies/procedures.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS from accredited institution; valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/medical/biotech; 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50%; lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred:
- Top-tier sales performance/product launch success; demand generation in hospitals.
- Anti-infective experience; expertise in complex account selling.
- Knowledge of health systems model/stakeholders (P&T, formulary), experience with specialist physicians/pharmacists.
- Data analysis for business plans; adaptability; strong presentation/selling; regulatory/compliance adherence.
Compensation/Benefits (US): Base salary $165,000β$275,000; annual bonus; eligibility for share-based long-term incentive; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
