The Hospital Senior Account Manager supports and advances formulary access, protocol and order set readiness, discharge pathway support, and demand generation across targeted hospital accounts. Drives sales by engaging Infectious Disease physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management, discharge planners, and IDN decision makers.
Responsibilities:
- Meet/exceed sales targets via an integrated territory business plan.
- Manage hospital relationships by engaging clinical/non-clinical stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
- Provide scientific/clinical information and deliver sales presentations using a customer engagement selling model.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive aligned execution and business success.
- Secure and translate formulary/market access wins into consistent prescribing and utilization.
- Engage pharmacy/medical/operational stakeholders to support patient identification, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and readmission reduction.
- Identify and address barriers impacting product adoption; optimize call metrics.
- Conduct educational programs (in-services, speaker programs) and compliant scientific discussions.
- Analyze utilization/customer trends and develop territory plans; manage territory budget; complete administrative tasks; maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS from an accredited institution; valid driverβs license.
- 5+ years pharma/medical/biotech experience.
- 3+ years calling on hospitals/health systems.
- Experience with hospital decision-making, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship.
- Travel up to 50% (overnight); ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds.
Preferred:
- Proven top-tier sales and product launch success; demand generation in hospitals.
- Anti-infective experience; account selling expertise; deep health systems knowledge.
Compensation/Benefits (US): $165,000β$275,000 base; annual bonus; eligibility for long-term incentive; health/insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
