Territory / Work Model
- Field-based sales role covering the Sacramento, CA territory (including Reno, Carson City, Stockton, Lake Tahoe, and Oroville).
- Ideal to reside within the territory or within a reasonable commuting distance.
- Travel varies by location within the geography.
- Remote work arrangement (field-based role requires daily in-person attendance where applicable).

Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate product information meaningfully and relevantly; customize discussions based on customer needs.
- Conduct informed product discussions with HCP customers and determine when/how to seek and provide additional information.
- Serve as primary point of contact for select accounts; meet key customers/personnel to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers/network structure, needs, and identify business opportunities.
- Coordinate with the customer team to develop customer strategy (interactions/relationship, solutions, potential offerings).
- Share learnings and best practices across customers.
- Focus on better health outcomes (HCP and patient experience).
- Provide input into resource allocation decisions across customers.
- Identify/select programs and services from available resources to address customer needs.
- Maintain understanding of practice structure/business model/key influencers/network structure and share with relevant stakeholders.
- Influence beyond specific geography/product area; maximize technology and channels to engage customers.
- Perform responsibilities with high ethics/integrity and comply with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

HIV Specific
- Execute each stage of the sales process; position HIV products vs. competition using appropriate patient focus and approved resources.
- Stay ahead of market trends; assess business impact and make proactive recommendations.
- Ask strategic questions to understand healthcare needs; use insights to position products and collaborate on tailored business strategy.
- Identify customer/market segments and local industry conditions; special emphasis on Specialty Pharmacy, including HIV distribution channels/challenges.
- Manage the virology portfolio by prioritizing opportunities and executing plans through segmentation, targeting, and business analysis.
- Understand HIV payer environment and stakeholder roles in access to product portfolio.
- Develop and execute account plans using account needs/inter-dependencies; collaborate with Virology Account Team members to build long-term, patient- and customer-centric solutions.
- Maximize current/future technology and multi-channel engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maximize customer interactions and territory management.
- Build relationships with difficult-to-access customers in a “no sample” environment.
- Use a “business owner mindset” during business cycles with change (flex across segments/portfolios; matrix collaboration).
- Maintain high-level compliance with company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of sales experience OR high school diploma with at least 6 years of equivalent experience (e.g., professional sales, marketing, military, or healthcare/scientific field such as pharmaceutical/biotech/medical devices).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory for in-person customer visits and national sales meetings/conferences.

Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2+ years in account management or sales with Infectious Disease customers (preference for HIV product and/or launch experience).
- Specialty sales experience across specialty markets (preference for launch experience).
- Pharma/biotech/medical device sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute customer engagement plans; establish/maintain relationships.
- Experience in highly regulated environments where compliance is critical.
- Experience with complex hospital systems, teaching institutions, and community hospitals.
- Ability to identify account inter-dependencies and build partnerships with key stakeholders/departments.
- Experience with complex payer environments (including pharmacy stakeholders).
- Trusted representative for disease-state customers.
- Experience with scientific thought leaders and developing advocates across adoption continuum.
- Ability to build relationships in “no sampling” environments.
- High business acumen and account management skills; preferred relationships with key opinion leaders.
- Leadership, planning/organization, self-motivation, ability to learn and convey complex information.
