Thought Leader Liaison (TLL)
Territory: Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida.
Role:
Builds and manages strategic relationships with U.S. external experts to generate timely, actionable insights that inform brand strategy, with strict compliance adherence. Hepatology TLLs support hepatology drug launches, including expertise in quantitative HBsAg testing to identify target patients and accelerate adoption of a functional cure paradigm in Hepatitis B.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strategic, value-driven relationships with assigned external experts.
- Plan and execute compliant external expert engagements aligned to brand priorities (outside advisory/congress events), including live/virtual in geography.
- Segment and manage a thought leader network to optimize engagement and insight generation.
- Compliantly elicit, document, and synthesize clinical/competitive/strategic insights; share with marketing senior leadership to inform brand strategy, resourcing, and tactics.
- Seek compliant external expert feedback on initiatives/materials.
- Plan/execute consulting engagements and advisory boards; coordinate expert executive interactions with commercial leadership.
- Enable peer-to-peer education (speaker recommendations, training/ops support, relationship management).
- Lead sponsorship at Tier 1 congresses; host product theater speakers and EE guests.
- Partner with medical/legal/compliance/regulatory/marketing; manage multiple priorities; manage agency/vendor partners; manage/mitigate engagement risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 10 years in field sales, product marketing, or medical/clinical roles within pharma/biotech.
- Specialty Hepatology/GI experience required.
- Experience presenting to executive audiences and influencing strategic decisions.
- Experience leveraging insights to guide strategy.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Travel 60–80% (nights/weekends).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Strong account management and cross-functional leadership.
- Marketing and/or sales management experience.
- Advanced project management/organizational skills.
- Proven regulatory/compliance adherence with risk identification and mitigation.
