Main Responsibilities
Commercial E-Commerce Strategy & Vision
- Own the end-to-end B2B US e-commerce commercial strategy, defining vision, priorities, and a multi-year roadmap for customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
- Act as general manager for US e-commerce; develop growth initiatives aligned to commercial goals and evolving customer needs while partnering with Digital and CX for technical delivery.
- Translate market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights into differentiated strategic positions; build business cases and present to VP/SVP/business unit leadership.
- Identify and evaluate new business models, market expansion opportunities, and innovative channel strategies.

Customer Retention, Growth & Experience
- Develop and oversee e-commerce strategies to deepen relationships and reduce churn (healthcare providers, institutional buyers, and other B2B segments).
- Identify friction points across the digital buying journey; partner with Digital and Marketing to improve lifetime value.
- Define and monitor KPIs for platform adoption, engagement, digital revenue contribution, and retention; drive accountability to outcomes.
- Ensure omnichannel complementarity between e-commerce and sales (rep-led) channels.

Innovation & Market Intelligence
- Track emerging B2B e-commerce trends and competitive moves; convert insights into recommendations.
- Lead test-and-learn pilots/experiments to validate ideas before scaling.
- Evaluate and recommend technology/partnership/capability investments to unlock platform value.

Roadmap Co-Ownership & Digital Partnership
- Co-own the platform roadmap with Digital E-Commerce; ensure priorities are sequenced and reflected in delivery plans.
- Influence digital priorities and resourcing without engineering authority.
- Serve as primary commercial interface between business strategy and platform execution.
- Drive UAT and commercial readiness; validate capabilities with real customer scenarios before deployment.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and develop an e-commerce team; foster strategic, analytical, customer-centric performance and career development.
- Build relationships across Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal, and Finance to remove execution barriers.
- Represent the function in senior leadership forums; deliver executive communications and investment proposals.
- Partner with Finance/Commercial leadership on annual plans, investment cases, and performance tracking.

About You (Qualifications & Skills)
- Demonstrated experience leading B2B e-commerce strategy and/or digital channel development with sales-growth outcomes.
- Healthcare/life sciences/medical devices/diagnostics/specialty distribution experience preferred; value in regulated or relationship-intensive industries.
- Bachelor’s required; MBA/advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years in progressive B2B e-commerce/digital channel/digital marketing in complex environments.
- Management consulting experience strongly preferred (strategy or commercial practice; 3–4 years).
- Track record influencing in matrixed organizations and engaging senior executives as a strategic thought partner.
